In the late 19th century, John Pemberton invented a concoction which gave rise to the carbonated soft-drink known today as Coca-Cola.

He likely had no idea how popular and significant his drink would become as he was largely concerned with creating a ‘healthy’ drink to help cure addictions and other ailments.

Yes, original Coke did contain a little cocaine, but have no fear because today it only contains a massive dose of high-fructose corn syrup which causes all sorts of other issues.

Nonetheless, Coca-Cola became a symbol, mostly associated with the United States, and imagery and advertisements associated with the drink appeared virtually everywhere as time went on.

The influence of this drink and the company that made it was so powerful that even the way Santa Claus is portrayed today is a direct result of Coke’s marketing power.

Of course, being naturally inquisitive beings, humans only sat around and actually drank their Coca-Cola for several decades before they found out you can do all sorts of fun and strange things with it. Yes, you can dump some Mentos in and get a geyser of pop – we’ve all seen the endless videos of that.

You can also use it as a cleaner thanks to its highly corrosive levels of phosphoric acid. Ahead you’ll find a number of fun and, sometimes, bizarre, experiments you can do with Coke at home.

Be warned that in actuality some of these experiments should be done outside and possibly far away from other people or buildings.
